Resumen
Se describe el sistema dual-fuel para motores diésel, operando los motores de combustión interna, donde se sustituyó parte del combustible con gas natural u otro combustible gaseoso. El sistema permite un ahorro económico significativo por la diferencia de precio entre el diésel y el gas natural, la disponibilidad de gas en sitio y la disminución en la emisión de gases contaminantes de la atmósfera debido a las bondades que presenta el gas natural frente al diésel. Se presentan los resultados de las pruebas realizadas a motores, y se indica la manera de aprovechar la tecnología dual-fuel en la industria petrolera.
ABSTRACT The dual-fuel system for diesel engines is described, which consists in substituting part of the fuel used by the internal combustion engine with natural gas or another gaseous fuel. This system allows significant savings in costs due to differences in the prices of diesel and natural gas, the on-site availability of gas, and the reduction in polluting gas emissions to the atmosphere attributable to the positive aspects of natural gas versus diesel fuel. The results of tests carried out on the dual-fuel engine are presented, and the best way to use this technology in the oil industry is indicated.
