Resumen
Hernán Vergara, médico psiquiatra, bogotano, esposo de María Canilla, fundadora de la primera escuela de servicio social que funcionó en Bogotá desde el año 1937, rememora algunos momentos significativos de la historia del Trabajo Social en Colombia. En su calidad de profesor de dicha escuela, muestra los principios que guiaron la formación de una generación que se dedicó al trabajo con niños y mujeres de los barrios obreros de la capital del país.
Abstract. Hernán Vergara, physician and psychiatrist, bom in Bogotá, husband to María Canilla, founder of the first school of social service in Bogotá in 1937, remembers some significant periods of the history of Social Work in Colombia. As a teacher of this school, he shows the principles that guided the formation of a generation devoted to the work with children and women from worker barrios in the capital of the country.
