This research aims to evaluate the spatial equity of the educational service provided in the urban area of the municipalities of Manizales and Villamaría, having as a hypothesis the existence of a strong inequity in the provision of educational service at all levels (initial, basic, middle and higher), the methodology involves territorial accessibility analysis based on GIS, using travel times from a transport infrastructure network, in public and private transport mode separately, the location of all formal education establishments whether public or private and contemplates the use of geostatistical models for the generation of isochronous curves in the presentation of results, which at the same time are related to the base data generating population analysis. This methodology is developed in such a way that it can be applied to different locations and populations throughout the world. The main results obtained are the accumulated and stratified population coverage for the time bands obtained, showing which socioeconomic level benefits the most from the location of the facilities by educational level, showing the areas of analysis that have high travel times to access the nearest institution, followed by the result of spatial equity, showing the sectors with disparate values with respect to the provision of educational services, showing how the low strata have low conditions with respect to high socioeconomic strata.eng
