Finalmente, se propone la Teoría del Ciclo de promoción de la actividad física en niñas y niños en edad preescolar, que retoma los principales elementos de las representaciones sociales sobre la actividad física que emergieron. dc.description.abstractWith the aim of identifying the social representations of physical activity in the participating population, in order to provide useful knowledge for the elaboration of healthy public policies and the implementation of public health interventions at preschool age, a study was conducted with a qualitative approach, with a case study design, from the Theory of Social Representations, using Constructivist Grounded Theory as the method of analysis. It was conducted in Cali, Colombia, in a public educational institution (Case 1) and a private educational institution (Case 2), both at the preschool level. A multi-methodology was used for data collection, including interviews, association networks, drawings, photo-voice and observation. Case 1 presented as a figurative core of social representation the category "moving in different ways", while Case 2 had as a figurative core the category "receiving the benefits of physical activity". In both cases, positive polarity indices were found, indicating positive attitudes towards physical activity. The orientation given by these and the other categories that emerged is considered fundamental to be taken into account in the elaboration of interventions and public policies for the promotion of physical activity as a healthy habit from an early age. Finally, the theory of the cycle of promotion of physical activity for preschool girls and boys is proposed, taking into account the main elements of the social representations of physical activity that emerged.eng
