Abstract: The following Master’s Degree research has the purpose of contributing to the companies of public transport of passengers, alternatives for the choice of crew scheduling and rostering problems, so that includes the costs associated to the operation and other parameters that have to do with the welfare of the operators in the passenger transport companies. In order to carry out the analysis, operation information regarding the week of October 22nd to the 28th, 2018; of two companies of the Sistema Integrado de Transporte Público of passengers - SITP, were taken into account for evaluating three types of operation: business day, Saturday and Sunday, the costs of operation in two bus depots of the SITP, performing simulations by the use of a specialized software applied for this purpose, called Freeway®, and associating the evaluation parameters of welfare to the operator. Based on this evaluation, a comparison was made between the current solution and the one proposed by this research, obtaining as a result for the San Bernardino bus depot, a reduction in Crew Services of 4%, corresponding to a monthly saving for a working day of Colombian $ 27,943. 644 and an increase in the availability of 17 operators, in the same way for the Tintal bus depot, a reduction in crew services of 2% was generated with regard to the solution applied, corresponding to working days (Monday through Friday) saving of Colombian $ $ 11,188,101. The proposed solutions presented in this research improve and provide a solution to the quality of the drivers shifts, consequently resulting in an increase in the welfare of the operators.
