Intento de suicidio en el municipio de Sogamoso 2011 - 2013

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue caracterizar los casos reportados de intento de suicidio del Municipio de Sogamoso a partir de la información del sistema de vigilancia en salud pública y la recolectada en el proceso de atención y seguimiento, entre los años 2011 y 2013. Se planteó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal retrospectivo, en el cual se complementó, sistematizó y analizó, la información correspondiente a 286 casos de intento de suicidio reportados en el periodo de estudio. El análisis de la información se hizo teniendo en cuenta los aspectos sociodemográficos, las características de presentación del evento y los factores de riesgo definidos en la Ficha de Notificación. El análisis estadístico se realizó con EPIINFO 7 La investigación evidenció, que el municipio de Sogamoso presentó tasas de incidencia por 100.000 habitantes, superiores a las registradas en el país; 103.3 (2011), 85.4(2012) y 60.4(2013). Las Mujeres adolescentes y jóvenes entre los 16 y 25 años, son el grupo de población con mayor riesgo y a donde se debe orientar prioritariamente las acciones de prevención de la conducta suicida. Hay pocos estudios en el país que describan el comportamiento del intento de suicidio, por eso algunas de las comparaciones se hicieron sobre los datos del suicidio consumado. En términos generales el comportamiento del evento, en los aspectos sociodemográficos y de presentación, mantiene características similares a las reportadas en los estudios de la conducta suicida en el País.

Abstract. The objective of this project is to characterize the reported cases of suicide attempt in the city of Sogamoso based on the surveillance system information in public health and the information recollected in the attention and tracing process, from 2011 to 2013. The design of this project is a descriptive study with retrospective cross-sectional, where the information was complemented, systematized and analyzed, that information corresponding to 286 suicide attempt cases that are reported on the surveillance system information in public health from 2011 to 2013.The analysis of the information was done considering the social-demographic aspects, the characteristics of the presentation of the event and the risk factors had been defined in the record of notifications, the statistical analysis was realized with EPIINFO7. In the investigation was evidenced that the city of Sogamoso presents rates of incidence per 100.000 people higher than those recorded in the country and in the two principal cities; 103.3 (2011), 85.4 (2012) and 60.4 (2013).The teenagers’ women and youth between 16 and 25 years old are the population group that present more risk and the group that must be orientated with a greater importance in the prevention actions. The country has few studies that describe the behavior of the suicide attempt, for that reason some of the comparisons was doing based on the data of the accomplished suicide. In general terms the behavior of the event in the social-demographic aspects and the presentation of the event have similarities characteristics with the reported cases in the studies about the suicide conduct in the country
