Valses nobles y sentimentales de Maurice Ravel: Análisis estructural e interpretativo

Abstract

El presente estudio busca familiarizar al lector con los “Valses nobles y sentimentales” de Maurice Ravel, mediante la comprensión de su estilo y estética musical; del contexto del compositor y de las relaciones entre las corrientes artísticas del momento, así como por medio de una caracterización del género del vals. El análisis estructural de los “Valses nobles y sentimentales” aborda los tipos de acordes, los diseños rítmicos y melódicos así como la textura y la forma. Dirigido a la práctica interpretativa, el estudio pone en consideración algunas de las problemáticas que pueden surgir al momento de interiorizar el texto musical relacionadas con la comprensión del mismo. This work intends mainly to familiarize the reader with the "Noble and Sentimental Waltzes" from various approaches. To this end, the composer's context is considered in the first instance, taking into account the relationships between the artistic currents of the moment and the composer's musical and aesthetic style. The specific traits of the waltz as a genre are used as a background as well. Second, a structural analysis was developed, organizing the musical elements independently. This analysis aims at interpretive practice; therefore, it addresses problems that arise when internalizing the musical text related to its understanding—studying, for example, the different types of chords, rhythmic and melodic designs, or polyphonic planes. Finally, interpretive aspects are discussed, articulating the analysis and execution.
