Este trabajo contribuye al entendimiento integral de la ecoepidemiología de la malaria en Colombia y sugiere la necesidad de estrategias de control que integren las dimensiones ambiental, social y territorial. dc.description.abstractThis study explores the influence of environmental, socioeconomic factors like deforestation on malaria incidence in Colombia from 2007 to 2018, with a particular focus on the role of deforestation and climatic variables. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining a systematic literature review, spatial descriptive analysis, univariate and multivariate models (Poisson, negative binomial, and INLA), as well as Bayesian spatio-temporal techniques. Findings reveal that malaria transmission is a spatially-driven and highly heterogeneous phenomenon, with persistent hotspots in regions such as the Pacific coast and the Amazon. Minimum temperature emerged as the most consistent predictor, while precipitation exhibited a non-linear, threshold-dependent association. Deforestation effects varied by satellite product, highlighting the importance of spatial and temporal resolution in land cover change assessments. Furthermore, the study discusses how anthropogenic activities such as illegal mining interact with ecological and social conditions to intensify transmission risk. This research provides a comprehensive eco-epidemiological perspective on malaria in Colombia and underscores the need for integrated control strategies that address environmental, social, and territorial dimensions.eng
