La presente investigación busca establecer los diferentes índices de deserción a nivel cuantitativo y cualitativo presentados en la carrera de Psicología de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia – sede Bogotá a través del análisis de las bases de datos de la División de Registro y de la Dirección Nacional de Admisiones. Por lo tanto se recurrió a una encuesta estructurada aplicada a aquellos estudiantes que aplazaron sus estudios durante el periodo 2007 y 2011, a través de la cual se pudo establecer que los motivos que condujeron a los estudiantes consultados, a suspender sus estudios, se relacionan con variables de tipo socioeconómico y personal, más que a variables de índole puramente académico. The current research establish the different qualifiers of dropping out in a cuantitative and same as in a cualitative level. These results were presented at the Pshycology Department of Universidad Nacional de Colombia- Bogotá headquarters through the analysis of the Registration Division database and of the National Direction to Admission. Therefore, it draws on a structured survey applied to those students that deferred them studies within the period 2007 and 2011.
