| spa |
dc.description.abstract | Circadian cycles are responsible for the regulation of sleep, metabolism, attention and performance of people in the different activities they perform. These cycles depend on timely and sufficiently intense light stimuli, which cannot always be achieved indoors, especially now in times of pandemic when most of the daytime hours are spent at home. The non-visual effects of natural lighting have been studied in workspaces, but in domestic spaces the experience is less. This research evaluates the light output of a room in a low-budget official home in Colombia in order to assess whether the current typical design allows reaching the minimum levels of Equivalent Melanopic Light (EML) and generating an effective Circadian Stimulus (CS). The circadian lighting simulations were made with the ALFA plug-in that operates on the Rhinoceros platform, but not in an empty room as is usually done but considering the presence of the furniture that commonly makes up a room and a human body in the rooms. different postures and direction of gaze induced by the various furniture configurations considered. Alternatives in the orientation of the facade and the positioning of the window made it possible to identify window / orientation / furniture combinations that allow obtaining a visually correct lighting with the adequate stimulation of the circadian cycle in people. | eng |
