Abstract

Momentos vividos desde el cuerpo, entre ellos el aumento de volumen corporal por el inicio de un embarazo y 37 años de vivencias redimensionaban la realidad: la pequeña se hizo grande y hasta comienza a envejecer, lo amorfo se hace forma y lo liviano empieza a tener peso. De igual forma, los lugares que habían sido habitados años atrás se re-dimensionaban, pedían crear conexiones con el futuro, con esa vida que se iba gestando y con el pasado, aquel que había rodeado la infancia y que a ratos se mostraba desdibujado por la lejanía y el tiempo. Cuerpo, casa, imaginación del futuro, pasado borroso, todo se empezaba a unir y a resignificar a partir de las dimensiones. Así surge la primera imagen que ha acompañado buena parte de este trabajo creativo, el cuerpo-piñata. Un cuerpo que tiene la necesidad de cargar y trasladar su entorno, su pequeño mundo. El cuerpo se convierte en casa, en recuerdo, en la puesta en escena de un territorio de la memoria que brota a manera de pequeñas figuras y de historias inventadas, que tratan de explicar las razones por las cuales las cosas se hicieron pequeñas o más grandes, estableciendo una relación entre la memoria, las dimensiones y el cuerpo. Moments which were experienced from within the body, such as the body’s increasing volume due to a developing pregnancy and 37 years of experience give a new dimension to reality: the little one became big and even started to become old, from shapelessness came form and the weightless became heavy. In the same way places that were lodged in one’s memory changed dimensions, tried to create links with the future, with this life which was developing, and the past, the things that had been part of childhood and that were erasing in time and distance. Body, home, imagining the future, a distant past, everything seemed to connect and create new meaning, a new dimension. This is how the first image of this work was born, a piñata body, a body which has to carry and transport its own environment, its little world. The body transforms into a home, memories, the scene to a land of memories, which boils into little figures and invented stories which try to explain why some things became small or others grew creating a link with memories, dimensions and the body.
