Efectos del comportamiento moral de otros y de una sanción verbal sobre el comportamiento moral propio y su justificación

Abstract

El presente estudio se realizó con el propósito de identificar el efecto de lo que los otros hacen y dicen sobre el juicio y el comportamiento moral. Los participantes fueron expuestos a dos variables independientes “comportamiento del compañero” y “retroalimentación verbal”. La primera variable contó con tres niveles, a saber: compañero “ladrón”, compañero “justo” o compañero “generoso”. La retroalimentación verbal contó con dos niveles “retroalimentación positiva” y “retroalimentación negativa”. 66 participantes realizaron una tarea en la que tenían que entregar un monto de dinero a un compañero según una instrucción. Se les indicó que así como ellos debían entregar ese dinero los otros también debían realizar la misma tarea. Luego de la instrucción fueron expuestos individualmente a la variable comportamiento del compañero. Posteriormente los participantes debían decidir cuánto dinero le iban a dar al compañero exponiendo las justificaciones para dicha asignación; seguidamente se les presentó una retroalimentación verbal negativa o positiva. Se les dio una nueva oportunidad de decidir cuánto dinero le entregarían a su compañero justificando esta asignación. Los resultados muestran que los participantes tendieron a asignar el dinero de forma justa con relativa independencia del comportamiento del compañero, sin embargo, se presentaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en función del comportamiento del compañero. La retroalimentación verbal no afectó el comportamiento pero si las justificaciones del mismo. Se discuten los resultados en función de los efectos de la historia interactiva previa de exposición a normas morales y a sanciones negativas por el no ajuste a dichas normas, sobre el actuar propio.

Abstract. This study was conducted in order to identify the effect of what others do and say on moral judgment and behavior. Participants were exposed to two independent variables "behavior of the partner" and "verbal feedback." The first variable had three levels, namely partner "thief" companion "fair" or partner "generous". Verbal feedback included two levels "positive feedback" and "negative feedback". 66 participants performed a task that had to deliver an amount of money to a partner as an instruction. They were told that as they had to give the money the others also should perform the same task. After instruction were individually exposed to the variable behavior of the partner. Participants had to decide how much money would you give to fellow exposing the justifications for that assignment; subsequently, they had a negative or positive verbal feedback. They had another chance to decide how much money would deliver to his partner giving a justification for this assignment. The results show that participants tended to be fair with relative independence companion behavior, however, Statistically significant differences were found until groups. The verbal feedback did not affect behavior but if the justifications thereof. The results are discussed in terms of the interactive effects of prior history of exposure to negative moral norms and sanctions for non conformity with these standards, on own act
