Significado para la madre de su participación en el cuidado al neonato prematuro hospitalizado

Abstract

El objetivo fue describir el significado que atribuye la madre a su participación en el cuidado al recién nacido prematuro en la unidad de cuidados neonatales, en un grupo de madres que tenían sus hijos hospitalizados en la unidad neonatal, del Hospital Militar Central de Bogotá. Estudio de diseño cualitativo y método de Etnoenfermería; apoyado en conceptos de la teoría de la diversidad y universalidad de los cuidados culturales de Madeleine Leininger. Se realizaron entrevistas a profundidad, notas de campo y observación participante. Fueron informantes claves (9) nueve madres que tenían recién nacidos prematuros hospitalizados e informantes generales (4) cuatro enfermeras de la unidad neonatal. Se realizaron 20 entrevistas a las informantes claves y 4 a las informantes generales. Se obtuvieron 28 códigos, 5 patrones y 2 temas centrales. Se concluyó que el significado para la madre de participar en el cuidado del recién nacido prematuro hospitalizado es contar con la enseñanza de la enfermera, un camino para la madre participar en el cuidado del prematuro hospitalizado y el contexto de la hospitalización del prematuro, un escenario que influye en la participación de la madre en el cuidado, que representan los temas centrales respectivamente. The goal was to describe the meaning attributed the mother of their participation in the care, to the newborn premature neonatal care unit in a group of mothers who had their children hospitalized in the neonatal unit of the Central Military Hospital in Bogota. Qualitative design study and Ethnonursing method; based on the concepts of the theory of universality and diversity proposed by Madeleine Leininger. In depth interviews were developed, field notes and participant observation. The key informants were (9) nine mothers who had hospitalized premature newborn, and the general informants (4) four nurses from the neonatal unit. 20 interviews were conducted with key informants and 4 to the general informants. 28 codes were obtained, 5 Patterns and 2 central themes. It was concluded that the meaning for the mother to participate in the care of hospitalized premature child is to have the teaching nurse, a way for the mother to participate in the care of hospitalized preterm and context of hospitalization of prematurity, stage that influences the mother's participation in care, representing the central themes respectively.
