dc.description.abstract | The study focuses on the impact of e-commerce on freight trip generation in emerging economies. The main objective of the research is to predict the attraction of freight trips derived from online sales, specifically in the context of B2C e-commerce. To develop freight trip attraction models, demographic and socio-economic factors of consumers are analyzed, which were obtained through a survey conducted on a Google form that sought to collect data in the Medellín Metropolitan Area. To estimate the attraction of freight trips, the study developed linear regression models using the ordinary least squares method, and a geospatial analysis of the data was conducted using interpolation methods available in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The main finding of the models obtained is the relationship between the number of trips attracted and the high-income characteristic of the consumer. The results of the geospatial analysis showed the areas with the highest attraction of freight trips in the case study, evidencing that they are the municipalities with the best socio-economic performance and in the southern zone. The study also discusses the implications of the results for urban logistics, including the need to adapt infrastructure and delivery services to the specific characteristics of each zone. dc.description.abstract | El estudio se centra en el impacto del comercio electrónico en la generación de viajes de carga en economías emergentes. | spa |
