dc.description.abstract | La mayoría de los edificios en los trópicos requieren el control de la admisión de los rayos solares, así como el uso ventajoso de la luz natural y la permitida ventilación cruzada. Un elemento básico para lograr esto es el ladrillo calado, utilizado para crear ambientes confortables. Este se usa extensamente en los trópicos debido a sus bajos requisitos tecnológicos de fabricación y su reducido costo. Las paredes caladas tienen un inmenso potencial de sostenibilidad, especialmente en los edificios tropicales modernos, pero la investigación sobre su comportamiento solar es escasa. Esta investigación evalúa la ganancia solar en superficies perforadas definiendo el “Rango de Aplicabilidad Solar”, una propiedad útil para identificar intervalos de orientación donde una forma de patrón perforado presentará un “Nivel de Ganancia Solar Deseable”. Además, la metodología desarrollada proporciona información valiosa en el diseño geométrico de un elemento capaz de presentar un “Rango de Aplicabilidad Solar” previamente definido, introduciendo el rendimiento de sombra en el diseño de las paredes caladas. | spa |
dc.description.abstract | Most buildings in the tropics require the control of solar rays admission, as well as advantageous use of natural light and allowance of cross ventilation. One basic element to achieve this is the openwork brick, used to create comfortable environments. This is extensively used in the tropics due to its low manufacturing technology requirements and its reduced cost. The openwork walls have an immense sustainability potential, especially in modern tropical buildings, but research on its solar behaviour is scarce. This research evaluates the solar gain in perforated surfaces defining the “Solar Applicability Range”, a property useful to identify intervals of guidance where a perforated pattern shape will present a “Desirable Solar Gain Level”. In addition, the methodology developed gives valuable input in the geometric design of an element capable of presenting a “Solar Applicability Range” previously defined, introducing shade performance in the design of the openwork walls. | eng |
