Las mineralizaciones de Vetas están localizadas a 92 km al NE de Bucaramanga, y se asocian a vetas cuarzosas auríferas, que cortan el Neis de Bucaramanga y rocas tonalíticas y cuarzo-monzonitas porfiríticas. Se reconocieron cuatro eventos mineralizantes: Evento 1: Sericita, anquerita, cuarzo masivo y microcristalino, adularia, albita, esfalerita, galena, pirita fina, pirrotina y calcopirita. Evento 2: Molibdenita, magnetita, ilmenita, pirita arseniosa, esfalerita, pirita gruesa, cuarzo mosaico fino, masivo, microcristalino y flamboyante, turmalina y sericita. Evento 3: Oro, tenantita (argentífera), esfalerita, turmalina, pirita fina y gruesa, calcopirita, y cuarzo flamboyante, mosaico, masivo y peine. Evento 4: Pirita gruesa, pirita arseniosa, hematita, pirita fina y cuarzo microcristalino (textura brechosa), y sericita. Posteriormente a las mineralizaciones metálicas se desarrolló cuarzo en forma de peine. El depósito se formó a temperaturas entre 200°C – 330°C y a profundidades entre 150 y 300 metros, a partir de fluidos mineralizantes neutros y relativamente salinos. Análisis isotópicos de Azufre (
Abstract: Gold mineralizations in the Vetas area are located 92 km NE of Bucaramanga city. They are associated to auriferous quartz veins, which cross the Bucaramanga gneiss, and tonalitic to quartz-monzonitic porphyric rocks.
