Resumen
La otra cara de la esperanza recoge doce cuentos que le dan una mirada interior a los conflictos, ansiedades y dudas que inquietan y conmueven al ser humano. El eje temático de la obra se centra en los retos y angustias de personajes que comparten algo en común: se encuentran fuera de su ambiente, ya sea porque son migrantes o extranjeros, porque son personajes en tránsito o porque persiguen algún objetivo que los ha sacado de su zona de confort y los confronta con sus propias debilidades. Las historias están caracterizadas por el predominio del pensamiento sobre la acción, de lo subjetivo sobre lo objetivo y por la influencia de lo anecdótico. Varios de los cuentos echan mano del fluir de la conciencia para revelarnos el estado mental de los personajes y permitirnos entender mejor los conflictos que enfrentan. (Texto tomado de la fuente).
Abstract
The other side of hope (La otra cara de la esperanza) is a collection of twelve short stories that look inside the conflicts, concerns and doubts that confront human beings. The central theme of the book focuses on the challenges and anxieties of characters who share something in common: they are out of their environment, either because they are immigrants or foreigners, because they are individuals in transit or because they are pursuing a goal that has taken them out of their comfort zone and confronts them with their own weaknesses. The stories are characterized by a preponderance of thought over action, of the subjective over the objective, and the influence of anecdotal. Several of the stories make use of the stream of consciousness to reveal the mental state of the characters and to allow us to better understand the conflicts they face.
