All too often it seems like we live in a continuous present, in the subsequent, in the moment that immediately follows, in a presentism and a fixation on the 'short-term'. These perceptions are forms of blockage that cloud the possibility of building sustainable futures in the everydayness of the present. This dissertation proposes an experiential, performative and embodied turn of the future, as well as a pedagogy of time away from concepts such as utopia or dystopia, and science fiction in favor of a conception of time as plural and multidimensional, stimulating the notion of change and transformation beyond fantasy. The research offers an inter and transdisciplinary methodology called 'Spectiva’ which combines Participatory Action Research based on Art with Social Foresight, and is based on four axes of action: decolonizing the future, game, experiencing and living the future, and projecting the future from a common collective time. This methodology has been applied in different contexts of environmental sustainability, peacebuilding and intangible cultural heritage, based on the resignification of certain Andean and specifically Colombian "historical horizons" or "conflicts anchored in collective memory". The method seeks to stimulate imagination and social emancipation in perspective of futures, inform about the alternative and provoke a social foresight thinking; a possibility for subaltern future images to emerge, societies to be built around hope and desire, and for vulnerability to be empowered in order to release a present trapped between a past that does not pass and futures that seem to never arrive.eng
