Functional and genetic characterization of a population of patients diagnosed with cerebral palsy and normal brain MRI in an institution in Bogota In cerebral palsy (CP) there are usually structural brain abnormalities, however, up to 10% may have normal brain MRI. This group of patients is poorly characterized. In PC, "red flags" have been described that indicate the need to search for an underlying genetic etiology. Objective: To characterize a population of Bogotá diagnosed with dyskinetic, ataxic and hypotonic type CP and normal MRI. Perform a genetic panel for neurotransmitter disorders in this group of patients. Describe brain MRI findings using the MRICS system. Results: 195 patients with CP were included, 33 with normal brain MRI. Patients with normal MRI had better gross motor function than the group with abnormal GMFCS level IV and V MRI (70.59%, vs 85.09%, p =0.04). There were no statistically significant differences in other variables. In 21 patients who underwent the genetic study, no pathogenic or probably pathogenic variants were found. The MRICS System was applied to classify the findings found in resonance, being easy to apply; the most frequent finding was white matter lesions 77 (41.2%). Conclusions: Patients with CP and normal brain MRI presented less severe motor involvement. No pathogenic or probably pathogenic mutations were demonstrated in the group of patients studied. The MRICS system could be properly applied with results like those previously described in the literature.eng
