dc.description.abstract | El síndrome metabólico es un conjunto de factores de riesgo como la obesidad, la resistencia a la insulina, la hipertensión y la dislipidemia que aumentan el riesgo de enfermedad cardiovascular y diabetes. Este estudio utilizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura para evaluar la neuroterapia como tratamiento. Basada en la fisiología rusa del siglo XIX y desarrollada por la escuela alemana Huneke, la neuroterapia utiliza anestésicos locales como la procaína para tratar la inflamación y mejorar la función celular. La teoría del reflejo inflamatorio de Kevin Tracy sugiere que el sistema nervioso regula la inflamación, pero se necesitan más investigaciones para confirmar la eficacia de la procaína en diversas patologías. En resumen, aunque la farmacoterapia tradicional ha sido la principal opción de tratamiento durante muchos años, el cumplimiento suele ser insuficiente, lo que provoca que la enfermedad se vuelva crónica. Las terapias alternativas como el yoga y la acupuntura tienen el potencial de reducir el síndrome metabólico y promover hábitos saludables. La evidencia sobre la eficacia de la neuroterapia es limitada, por lo que se necesita más investigación. dc.description.abstract | Metabolic syndrome is a set of risk factors such as obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, and dyslipidemia that increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This study used a systematic review of the literature to evaluate neurotherapy as a treatment. Based on 19th-century Russian physiology and developed by the German Huneke school, neurotherapy uses local anesthetics like procaine to treat inflammation and improve cellular function. Kevin Tracey's inflammatory reflex theory suggests that the nervous system regulates inflammation, but more research is needed to confirm procaine's effectiveness in various conditions. In summary, while traditional pharmacotherapy has been the main treatment option for many years, adherence is often insufficient, leading to chronic disease. Alternative therapies like yoga and acupuncture have the potential to reduce metabolic syndrome and promote healthy habits. Evidence for neurotherapy's effectiveness is limited, requiring further research.
