Accordingly, this paper examines the academic production on "management research" to determine its intellectual structure, topics and trends in the development of knowledge. To achieve this, the main bibliometric characteristics of the academic production on "management research" are described, the main topics addressed in the hegemonic, structural and current documents of this field are identified and their concurrence is analyzed in relation to the four axes of knowledge in management presented by Salazar, Gentilin and Miranda (2016): Administrative Theory (AT), Organizational Theory (TO), Organizational Studies (EO) and Research and Education in Management and Organizations (I&E). As a methodology, bibliometric analysis using the TOS (Tree of Science) analogy and Gephi software are employed, identifying an intellectual structure composed of the 64 most influential documents in the area, their respective topics and their distribution among the 16 identified themes: 1) International Business, 2) Business Management, 3) Academic Production in Management, 4) Supply Chain Management, 5) Management Research Methods, 6) Corporate Social Responsibility, 7) Management Education, 8) Knowledge Management, 9) Operations and Supply Chain Management, 10) Human Talent Management, 11) Operations Management, 12) Total Quality Management, 13) Nature of Management Research, 14) Research Methods and Knowledge Production, 15) Units of Analysis for the Study of the Firm, and 16) Relations between Academia and Management as Practice. Finally, it is concluded that there is concurrence between the academic production on "management research" and the four axes of knowledge mentioned, with a participation of 38% from Organizational Studies, 29% from Administrative Theory, 24% from Research and Education in Management and Organizations, and 9% from Organizational Studies.eng
