| dc.description.abstract | This study investigated how choice grouping influences savings choices through two experimental studies using hypothetical scenarios. In the first study, In the first study, participants were presented with a general case where they decided how to allocate their income between saving and spending. The second study used a more specific scenario, focusing on how much participants would save for purchasing a motorcycle, compared to other personalized transportation options. Both studies hypothesized that savings would be higher under grouped conditions, especially with nine grouped choices compared to three. The samples included 102 and 41 participants, respectively. In the first study, the results showed the expected effects of choice grouping only among male participants, while no significant differences were found in the overall sample. In the second study, choice grouping resulted in lower savings under grouped conditions, an effect also evident among men. These findings suggest that choice grouping can influence financial choices in ways that depend on the context and the gender participant. This study represents an innovative contribution as the first to apply choice grouping strategies to the domain of savings, offering new perspectives and a foundation for future research. | eng |

| spa |
