Formulating its emergence leads to the question of whether it can be understood as a human quality, or rather as a process of continuity among other life forms. Here, we understand cognition as something present in all species, but which requires assuming particular levels depending on the species being analyzed; thus, the human case requires a particular formulation. This level, that of specialization, will be analyzed through the phenomena of intelligence, language, and social life, opting for a theoretical-comparative approach. It is proposed that each species and its cognitive universe are the concatenation of continuous events, but with specialization processes. Thus, the idea allows us to understand animal cognition with parameters that are not necessarily human, since the complexity of each one does not respond to a linear developmental or improvement scale, and it will give visibility to all forms of adaptive intelligence.eng
