Tratamiento osteopático del dolor lumbar en mujeres en tercer trimestre de gestación, revisión de tema.

Abstract

Objective: Review the literature about osteopathic management of lower back pain in pregnant women during the third trimester. Justification: Low back pain is one of the most frequent symptoms during pregnancy, more than two thirds of pregnant women will have it, 67% will refer it in the second half of pregnancy and will be progressive as pregnancy progresses. This will interfere with daily activities and sleep having a negative impact on health and producing leaves of absence. Study design: A search of the literature in databases was performed twice, with a difference of seven months, as well as published literature (books). Search resources: Pubmed, Lilacs, Scielo and printed literature. Results: In the first search, 453 articles were found, of which 6 were submitted to the review. In the second search, 475 articles were found adding 1 to the review. From 7 articles, 4 are systematic reviews, were search and analyzed the included articles, identifying 5 randomized controlled studies. Two of those are unpublished thesis, it was not possible to access one of them, so in total 11 articles were included in the review. Conclusions: Osteopathic treatment of low back pain in third trimester pregnant women, decreases pain in the medium and long term, improving functionality. As a non-invasive and safe treatment can be carried out in conjunction with obstetric follow-up, in order to reduce the incidence of medical consultations for this cause and decrease work absenteeism, this would have important implications in Public Health.

Objetivo: Realizar una revisión de la bibliografía acerca del manejo osteopático del dolor lumbar en gestantes durante el tercer trimestre. Justificación: El dolor lumbar es uno de los síntomas más frecuentes durante la gestación, se presenta en dos terceras partes de las mujeres gestantes, el 67% lo referirá en la segunda mitad de la gestación y es progresivo a medida que avanza el embarazo. Esto interfiere con las actividades diarias y el sueño teniendo un impacto negativo en la salud y produciendo ausentismo laboral Diseño: Se llevó a cabo una búsqueda de la literatura en las bases de datos Pubmed, Lilacs y Scielo en dos oportunidades con diferencia de siete meses, así como de la literatura impresa. Resultados: En la primera búsqueda se encontraron 453 artículos de los cuales se ingresaron 6 a la revisión. En la segunda búsqueda se encontraron 475 artículos ingresando 1 a la revisión. De los 7 artículos, 4 son revisiones sistemáticas por lo que se hizo búsqueda y análisis de los artículos incluidos, identificando 5 estudios controlados aleatorizados. De éstos 2 son tesis no publicadas de las cuales no fue posible acceder a una de ellas, por lo que en total se incluyeron 11 artículos a la revisión. Conclusiones: El tratamiento osteopático del dolor lumbar en gestantes del tercer trimestre, disminuye el dolor a mediano y largo plazo, mejorando la funcionalidad. Al ser un tratamiento no invasivo y seguro puede llevarse a cabo junto con el seguimiento obstétrico, con el fin de disminuir la incidencia de consultas médicas por esta causa y disminuir el ausentismo laboral, teniendo así implicaciones importantes a nivel de salud pública.
