Resumen

Abstract

Given the different inconveniences that arise in the daily life of producers when marketing the food that comes from their farms, the La Huerta ecostore located in the municipality of Fusagasugá, is a local marketing alternative of the Tierra Libre organization, which seeks bring producers and consumers together by promoting the importance of fair and responsible consumption. This initiative promoted by Tierra Libre, a social organization that promotes the defense of the territory, the local economy and the permanence of the peasantry in the province of Sumapaz – Cundinamarca, through the “La Huerta” Ecostore, aims to break the logic of the conventional agri-food markets, and generate a direct relationship between producers and consumers, favoring the marketing of agroecological foods, within the framework of fair trade and solidarity economy (Tierra Libre, 2020). Within the objectives set for this process that has been in operation since 2016, relationships between producer and consumer are identified that have contributed to the social construction of this market in the city of Fusagasugá. The study was of a mixed type carried out on 83 producers, 21 consumers and 5 members of free land. Socioeconomic and sociodemographic variables, forms of access, motivations for consumption, types of food/agroecological products consumed were studied. The process and evolution of the ecostore was evident, its impact on the objectives that are outlined as Tierra Libre, highlighting the contribution to the changes generated from the perspective of consumers in relation to responsible and conscious consumption, in addition to the active linkage of producers in the construction of the principles of the eco-store towards food autonomy.
