Resumen
Los microorganismos generalmente son reconocidos de forma negativa ya que generan enfermedades o infecciones graves en los seres humanos y otros organismos, esa concepción negativa fue fortalecida después de que el mundo atravesara por una pandemia originada precisamente por un organismo microscópico, el virus SARS COV-2, el cual afectó la vida de las personas a tal punto que su forma de vivir y relacionarse cambió drásticamente. Es por esta razón que se decide aportar al reconocimiento de sus aplicaciones por medio del folleto “Héroes en miniatura” dirigido a todo público, en el cual se muestran las aplicaciones de los microorganismos en tres campos diferentes, la medicina, el ambiente y la industria alimenticia, cada uno de los capítulos contiene tres aplicaciones diferentes en las cuales se puede apreciar cómo se emplean algunos microorganismos. Para esto se trabajó con una población de 20 estudiantes del Colegio La Colina, a quienes se les implementó un taller y una encuesta para reconocer sus percepciones alrededor de los microorganismos. Se socializó el folleto “Héroes en miniatura” y finalmente se implementa de nuevo la encuesta de percepciones y el taller para identificar las diferencias entre las percepciones antes y después de la implementación el folleto. Los resultados arrojan transformaciones importantes en las percepciones de los estudiantes quienes tuvieron una buena recepción de la información, el cambio de percepciones fue positiva, pues se evidencia que algunos estudiantes tienen conceptos claros alrededor de los microorganismos por su contexto social, pero que aún hay cambios significativos en cuanto a las percepciones de los microorganismos, pasando de ser negativas a positivas. Abstract
Microorganisms are generally recognized in a negative way because they generate serious diseases or infections in humans and other organisms, this negative conception was strengthened after the world went through a pandemic caused precisely by a microscopic organism, the SARS COV-2 virus, which affected the lives of people to such an extent that their way of living and relating to each other changed drastically. It is for this reason that we decided to contribute to the recognition of its applications through the booklet "Héroes en miniatura" aimed at the general public, which shows the applications of microorganisms in three different fields, medicine, the environment and the food industry, each of the chapters contains three different applications in which you can see how some microorganisms are used. For this purpose, it worked with a population of 20 students from Colegio La Colina, to whom we implemented a workshop and a survey to recognize their perceptions about microorganisms. The booklet "Héroes en miniatura" was socialized and finally the perceptions survey and the workshop were implemented again to identify the differences between the perceptions before and after the implementation of the booklet. The results showed significant transformations in the perceptions of the students who had a good reception of the information, the change in perceptions was positive, as it is evident that some students have clear concepts about microorganisms due to their social context, but there are still significant changes in terms of perceptions of microorganisms, going from negative to positive.
