This research proposes to carry out a critical-conceptual reading of a mental disorder that appears as one of the main psychiatric diagnoses of childhood: Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Its objective is to point out the inconsistencies of the predominant explanatory approach to this disorder, the neurocognitive one, and to suggest an alternative to classical diagnosis and treatment. Regarding its diagnosis and treatment, it is essential for the clinician to have access both to the beliefs and desires of the child with ADHD and to their habits; to thought schemes, phantasies, etc., in order to better interpret him or her as the agent of their actions. An approach to the diagnosis of ADHD is sought that does not depend on neurocognitive precepts but on the meaning of symptoms. Once the problems of neurocognitivism have been analyzed, it is proposed to integrate the idea of triangulation coming from the philosophy of Donald Davidson to generate an alternative approach. Triangulation is a context of encounter between two agents around an object and the interaction they have with that object. This concept can be adapted to a psychotherapeutic space through the notions of scaffolding and propositional thought. Scaffolding assumes that the affective and mood states of a subject can be modified by an object. Psychotherapeutic triangulation is the space where the creation of meaning of disruptive actions is favored through scaffolding.eng
