Resumen
En este trabajo se presenta un material escrito, tipo cartilla, dirigido a estudiantes de Educación Media del Colegio San Carlos I.E.D., que sirve de complemento a las actividades preventivas que la escuela realiza frente al fenómeno de los terremotos. Durante el desarrollo del mismo, motivado principalmente por la aparente indiferencia de algunos estudiantes en los simulacros de evacuación, se encontró que los jóvenes no tienen claras las bases conceptuales asociadas con el tema y esto se explica, en parte, por la ausencia de material pensado para esta población específica. Sumado a esto, se observó una respuesta desinteresada por parte de la sociedad en general, propio, quizá, del entorno sociocultural del país; así como valiosos intentos de transformación en materia preventiva. Por ello, la cartilla es un aporte en esta dirección, y tiene como objetivo presentar estos contenidos de manera accesible a los jóvenes, sin perder rigor científico, destacando además el contexto colombiano.
Abstract. In this work a primer on earthquakes is constructed to complement preventive activities at the San Carlos IED high school in Bogotá, Colombia. The primer was motivated by the apparent lack of interest from students during evacuation drills and during its construction it was found that the youngsters did not posses clear conceptual basis on the subject of earthquakes a problem that is explained in part because there are no educational materials targeting this particular audience. Additionally a general indifference was perceived from the community perhaps related to the social and cultural setting in Colombia no matter valuable attempts of transformation in several aspects of disaster prevention. The primer is a contribution to solve these problems and its aim is to present the contents in an accessible language without losing scientific rigour and highlighting the Colombian context.
