Resumen
Este artículo presenta una serie de reflexiones sobre el Green Moon Festival que se realiza en la isla de San Andrés (Colombia), las tradiciones musicales que allí se presentan y las identidades que se construyen alrededor del evento. A partir de una comparación de dos textos que referencian el Festival en sus inicios y de una etnografía reciente, se hace un análisis de las transformaciones y resignificaciones que ha tomado el evento, mostrando el Festival como un lugar ambivalente que oscila entre intereses de cooptación estatal/comercial y reivindicaciones identitarias.
Abstract. This paper presents a series of reflections on the Green Moon Festival held on the island of San Andres (Colombia), the musical traditions presented there and the identities that are constituted around the event. Based on a comparison of two texts that reference the Festival in its beginnings and a recent ethnography, the analysis centers around the transformations and reinterpretations that has marked the event, showing the Festival as an ambivalent place that oscillates between interests of state/commercial cooptation and identity claims.
