| dc.description.abstract | Cacao is a neotropical species with a broad capacity for biological interaction due to its ability to establish an obligate or facultative symbiosis with various microorganisms. There were two phases of the work: one to collect soil and roots in the field and the second to establish a nursery with inoculation of the extracted mycorrhizae. Soil and root samples of cocoa trees were collected in two municipalities with cocoa tradition: Támesis and San Jerónimo, Antioquia. The mycorrhizae found were identified to their genus using keys, the association and dependence with fungi forming arbuscular mycorrhizae (AMF) was evaluated in order to infer the potential response of cocoa to the use of AMF. The effect of phosphorus in the soil solution on mycorrhiza and its association with cocoa roots was determined. The trial was established in the greenhouse of the National University of Colombia, Medellín, the planting soil was inoculated, the bags were organized, and the IMC67 seeds were sown. The results indicate that there is a symbiosis between AMF and the roots of cocoa seedlings. Phosphorus in the soil solution has a significant effect on plant growth and biomass accumulation, but no relationship with mycorrhizae was observed in young plants, and no dependence was present. The most frequent fungi were Glomus sp, Acaulospora sp and Gigaspora sp. | eng |
