Estos resultados sugieren que el trauma complejo predice en mayor medida el incremento en la agresividad indirecta, mientras que el desarrollo del lenguaje no mostró relacionarse directamente con los niveles de agresividad indirecta exhibida. dc.description.abstractChildren with complex trauma have experienced chronic maltreatment by their primary caregivers, showing negative outcomes on different developmental domains, including a lower development of language skills, and an increase in the level of aggressiveness exhibited in the interaction. The aim of this research was to measure the effects of complex trauma on linguistic production capacity and indirect aggressiveness in 84 participants between the ages of 5 and 14, through an instrument called the secret message game. Children with complex trauma were expected to show higher levels of indirect aggressiveness as well as lower language development than their peers without complex trauma. A quasi-experimental design was carried out with a target group with complex trauma (n = 45) and a control group (n = 39) in the city of Bogotá. Statistically significant differences were found in the levels of indirect aggressiveness between the target group and the control group, showing higher levels in the complex trauma group. While, in the linguistic production variables, no statistically significant differences were found in the productivity, density or diversity of the lexicon. Through a regression analysis, the variables that showed to predict an increase in indirect aggressiveness were belonging to the group of complex trauma and having more years of education. These results suggest that complex trauma predicts more the increased levels of indirect aggressiveness, while language development was not shown to be directly related to levels of indirect aggressiveness.eng
