Una mirada al comportamiento de la inversión en infraestructura vial y el crecimiento del Producto Interno Bruto en Colombia de 1925 a 2017

| dc.description.abstract | This work aims to observe the historical behavior of the road investment and its impact in the growth of the Colombian Gross Domestic Product. For this purpose, it describes the actual state of infrastructure investment over the world and then it focuses on the legislation that regulates the road investment in Colombia. The work continues with a review of the theoretical approach that has related infrastructure, particularly the roads, with the Growth of the countries and regions. A unit root test considering a constant was applied to the road investment and GDP data, and it was found that both are I(1), then correlation between the variables is found, so it is formulated a VECM that gives a positive error correction term, showing us no long-term stochastic convergence. This model is compared to a VAR with liner trend (the variables are stationary around a time trend), but the results of Granger Causality don’t change: it wasn’t found statistical causality between variables in any direction and the impulse response functions in both models suggest a positive effect from GDP to road investment and a negative effect from road investment to GDP, but very small in terms of the standard deviation. | spa |
| dc.description.abstract | Este trabajo pretende observar el comportamiento histórico de la inversión en carreteras y su impacto en el crecimiento del Producto Interno Bruto colombiano. Para esto describe el estado de la inversión en infraestructura nivel mundial y luego se centra en la legislación que regula la inversión de carreteras en Colombia. El trabajo continúa haciendo un recorrido por el abordaje teórico que ha relacionado a la infraestructura, y en particular a la de carreteras, con el crecimiento de los países y las regiones. Se aplican a los datos de inversión en carreteras y PIB pruebas de raíz unitaria considerando una constante y se encuentra que son I(1), luego se halla cointegración entre las variables, entonces se formula un VECM que arroja un término de corrección del error positivo que nos muestra que no hay convergencia estocástica en el largo plazo. Este modelo se compara con un VAR con tendencia lineal (las variables son estacionarias si se considera una tendencia temporal), pero los resultados de casualidad de Granger no cambian: no se encontró casualidad estadística entre las variables en ninguna dirección, y las funciones impulso respuesta en ambos modelos sugieren un efecto positivo del PIB sobre la inversión en carreteras y un efecto negativo de la inversión sobre el PIB, pero muy pequeños en términos de desviaciones estándar. | spa |
