Abstract: In this research, I study the subjective experience of those who are targets of targeting policy and cataloged as poor in the Potential Beneficiary System for Social Programs –Sisben-, as it stands in Spanish. For this, I make an analysis of the Sisben as a technology not only of focalization but also of creation of new subjectivities: the sisbenizados, whose lived experience is traversed by a classification process from which they emerge as poor subjects. The research includes, on the one hand, the study of the social representations that underlie the targeting policy that is materialized through Sisben and that come from hegemonic power centers, and on the other hand, the analysis of the self-experience of those classified as poor through this technology, the way in which they position themselves against the power of classification established.
