dc.description.abstractEn el mundo empresarial actual, las herramientas de Lean Six Sigma son esenciales para mejorar los procesos en empresas de servicios y manufactura, el objetivo de este trabajo de grado es implementar la metodología Lean Six Sigma en una aseguradora colombiana, con el fin de identificar y eliminar las actividades que no agregan valor en sus procesos; además, se busca mejorar tanto la eficiencia operativa como la calidad del servicio al cliente. En este contexto, se empleó el programa Exploradores de la Excelencia, una iniciativa corporativa diseñada para promover la mejora continua y la optimización de procesos, para implementar la metodología Lean en la compañía, donde se entrenaron a 27 colaboradores en metodología, donde me enfoque en el proceso de compras con el fin de optimizar el modelo operativo y reducir los desperdicios. Después de completar este estudio se estableció que, aplicar la metodología Lean en la organización, especialmente en el proceso de compras, ayuda a identificar los puntos críticos y eliminar los desperdicios; se propone un cambio en el modelo operativo con el fin de reducir o eliminar las actividades innecesarias y los tiempos de espera como resultado; actualmente, el plan de acción establecido en este documento se encuentra en ejecución y se han observado reducciones significativas en los tiempos de espera y en el ciclo de procesos, así como mejoras en los indicadores de gestión. dc.description.abstractIn today's business world, Lean Six Sigma tools are essential for improving processes in service and manufacturing companies. The objective of this thesis is to implement the Lean Six Sigma methodology in a Colombian insurance company, with the goal of identifying and eliminating non-value-adding activities. Furthermore, the goal is to improve both operational efficiency and customer service quality. In this context, the Excellence Explorers program, a corporate initiative designed to promote continuous improvement and process optimization, was used to implement the Lean methodology in the company. 27 employees were trained in the methodology, focusing on the purchasing process to optimize the operating model and reduce waste. After completing this study, it was established that applying the Lean methodology in the organization, especially in the purchasing process, helps identify critical points and eliminate waste. A change in the operating model is proposed to reduce or eliminate unnecessary activities and resulting wait times. Currently, the action plan established in this document is being implemented, and significant reductions in waiting times and process cycles have been observed, as well as improvements in management indicators.eng
