dc.description.abstractEl calcio es el ión más abundante del cuerpo humano, representa 2% del peso corporal total, 99% se encuentra en huesos y dientes, 1% en líquidos corporales, es regulador de la fisiología cardiovascular, por lo tanto, disturbios de su equilibrio pueden afectar al sistema. El calcio sérico en rangos de hipocalcemia e hipercalcemia se ha asociado al aumento de mortalidad en adultos con infarto agudo de miocardio, la evidencia actual es escasa y algunos estudios discrepan respecto a dicha asociación (Fang & Chen, 2022). El objetivo de estudio fue establecer la asociación entre los niveles de calcio sérico y la mortalidad en adultos con infarto agudo de miocardio, a partir de una revisión sistemática, aplicando la metodología Cochrane bajo la referencia Preferred Reporting Items for systematic review and meta-analysis protocols. Se seleccionaron 16 artículos, de estos, el 100% afirmaron que estados de hipocalcemia aumentan la mortalidad en adultos con infarto agudo de miocardio, 18.7% concluyeron que estados de hipercalcemia incrementan la mortalidad en adultos con infarto agudo de miocardio, 18.7% confirmaron en el mismo estudio que estados de hipocalcemia e hipercalcemia elevan la mortalidad en adultos con infarto agudo de miocardio. dc.description.abstractCalcium is the most abundant ion in the human body, it represents 2% of the total body weight, 99% is found in bones and teeth, 1% in body fluids, it is regulator of cardiovascular physiology, therefore, disorders of its balance can affect the system. Serum calcium in hypokalcemia and hypercalcemia ranges has been associated with increased mortality in adults with acute myocardial infarction, current evidence is scarce, and some studies disagree on such association (Fang & Chen, 2022). The aim of the study was to establish the association between serum calcium levels and mortality in adults with acute myocardial infarction, based on a systematic review, applying the Cochrane methodology under the reference Preferred Reporting Items for systemic review and meta-analysis protocols. 16 articles were selected, of which 100% stated that hypocalcemic states increase mortality in adults with acute myocardial infarction, 18.7% concluded that hypercalcemic States increase mortality in acute miocardic infarct adults, and 18.7% confirmed in the same study that states of hypokalcemia and hypercalcémia increase Mortality in Adults with Acute Myocardial Infarct.
