Abstract. Taking in account the restrictions both in processing capability and memory, and the need of providing the users identity in Wireless Networks, it is proposed a digital signature system that uses elliptic curves. With these curves it is possible to reach similar security levels with respect to the conventional cryptographic systems, with less resources. Due to the restrictions in development time, the work was done with a Digital Signal Processor (DSP), between the available options it was chosen the C6713 device of Texas Instruments due to the documentation and characteristics. Besides, the Cryptographic library Miracl was used, with this library the key setup took 763.72 ms, the signature generation took 45.303 ms, and the signature generation took 56.975 ms. In this way, it was found the feasibility of implement a digital signature system in the C6713 device, with comparable times with respect the similar Hardware systems.
