Resumen
Esta investigación tiene como propósito fundamental describir, desde el punto de vista semiótico y cultural, las representaciones sociales del ritual que entorno a la muerte se lleva a cabo tradicionalmente en el municipio de Quibdó. Además, gracias a la aplicación de una metodología semiótica, se expondrá la significación de las representaciones sociales que los afroquibdoseños dan a los procesos de la muerte, es decir, a las costumbres fúnebres. De igual manera, se describirá la génesis de las costumbres fúnebres que subyacen en estos habitantes
Abstract. The main aim of semiotic research in funebria field, is to analyze from semiotic and cultural perspectives, social representations of ritual around death that traditionally take place in Quibdó and also a semiotic methodology application to significance that afro quibdoseños give to death processes, it means, funeral customs, likewise, it´s looking for investigating the genesis of funeral customs in this population.
