Abstract. Bruxism is a common parafunctional habit, which occurs during sleep and / or wakefulness. Generally causes few serious effects. The etiology is multifactorial. No treatment is known to stop bruxism. Bruxism has also been considered as a risk factor for implants and has been associated with increased mechanical complications in prosthetic rehabilitation, although it seems not to affect implant survival. Therefore, it is important to consider all related aspects to help reduce the effects of bruxism on implant rehabilitation.
