El hombre cazador: género y violencia en contextos de música y bebida en Colombia

Abstract

Se presenta un análisis de las diferentes construcciones subjetivas que tienen hombres y mujeres de la región pacífica colombiana, especialmente de algunos sectores del Chocó, sobre las masculinidades y las feminidades. Adicionalmente el artículo muestra cómo estas representaciones se transforman, crecen y se relacionan, y las formas y estrategias específicas que adoptan las personas cuando intentan consolidar y describir la manera de asumirse hombre o mujer. Para ello se toma el hombre cazador como figura de análisis y se recogen relatos acerca de situaciones violentas y no violentas concernientes a la relación entre los géneros.

Abstract: This study presents an analysis of the different subjective constructions of masculinities and femininities on the part of men and women in the Colombia Pacific regions, especially in some parts of Chocó. It also shows how these representations are transformed and how they inter-relate, and the specific strategies adopted by people who try to consolidate the way in which they become male or female. The figure of man the hunter is taken as a figure of analysis, gathering accounts of violent and nonviolent situations representative of gender relations.
