Abstract: It is from the language as human being acquires communication, which will be assertive if between sender and receiver, there are regular, accurate and clear codes. The experiences as a mathematics teacher and specifically in the sixth grade three of the Gomez´s school Itagui municipality; I have identified some conceptual gaps in terms of understanding and perception of the concept of fractions. As a result there is apathy, indiscipline, poor academic performance; reasons which obstruct the progress in the acquisition of mathematical know ledges. A strategy that will give a solution to this difficulty is the construction of a didactic proposal, with understanding and analytical reading, which goals are to achieve competence in the mathematics area. With reading stories where they speak about historical construction of the concept of fraction, and how since our daily life Angelica protagonist shows us ways to teach this concept and giving to the student to the analytical understanding and critical written texts, where there is evidence of the appropriation of the fraction concept
