Adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con hipertensión arterial esencial y su relación con la calidad de vida en un grupo de pacientes de dos hospitales de la ciudad de Bogotá

Antecedentes: en Colombia la prevalencia de hipertensión arterial es del 12.3%, con baja adherencia al tratamiento por parte de los pacientes y aún no determinada su calidad de vida. Objetivo: determinar la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en un grupo de pacientes con hipertensión arterial y establecer su relación con la calidad de vida. Métodos: estudio descriptivo observacional de corte transversal. Se utilizó un instrumento con variables demográficas, el test de Morisky–Green (adherencia) y el MINICHAL para la calidad de vida. Resultados: De un total de 242 pacientes presentaron adherencia el 31.4%, con una calidad de vida en rango medio. En los pacientes ambulatorios se presenta una asociación entre la variable calidad de vida y adherencia (p0.001). Conclusiones: La adherencia al tratamiento antihipertensivo fue de 31,4% y se evidenció una asociación entre la variable calidad de vida y adherencia al tratamiento.
