Abstract: This work seeks to evidence the change of things into objects through transubstantiation, by analyzing the novel Everything is Illuminated, written by american writer Jonathan Safran Foer, adapted into a film of the same name by director Liev Schreiber. This, along with authors like Walter Benjamin, Félix Duque, José Luis Brea and Maurice Blanchot, among others. This thesis takes advantage of a beautiful and ingenious story to reflect on the use and disuse we give to things, about the great value hidden in their uselessness when they stop serving us, and we become the ones who serve them
