Abstract: this research aims to analyze the impact of the urban interventions carried out by the Local Government of the city of Medellín on urban violence and the expressions of its territoriality. The period of study was framed between 2004 and 2015 as it has been the one with the highest boom of the urbanistic proposal by the local administrations in the so-called peripheral territories, in the first instance under the motto of Social Urbanism and then under Civic Urbanism Pedagogical. In this sense, we can see that this type of intervention has had such potential in increasing the governability of the state in the neighborhoods and communes of the city and in reducing the presence and territorial control of illegal armed groups.
