The main purpose of this work was to enable students to establish explanatory relations between the three levels of representation of chemistry. It was found that students present conceptual difficulties regarding the use and proper management of some basic concepts of chemistry, difficulties and confusions in the management of symbology and chemical nomenclature; as well as the lack of awareness of the microscopic world presented by students.
