Resumen
Este trabajo presenta la huella de carbono del valle de Aburrá y el papel de las coberturas terrestres frente al servicio ecosistémico de captación de carbono. En este sentido se realiza una revisión conceptual sobre los gases de efecto invernadero, las metodologías para su medición, posteriormente se calcula la huella de carbono para el valle de Aburrá y el balance emisiones /cobertura. Finalmente se hace una revisión sobre los mecanismos de compensación para la mitigación de los efectos de los gases de efecto invernadero en la atmósfera, concluyendo sobre los mecanismos de compensación enfocados en la gestión del territorio.
Abstract: This paper presents the carbon footprint in the Aburrá valley, and the role of land cover against the ecosystem service of carbon capture.
