Abstract: The objective of this project is the design and application of a methodological strategy that favors the understanding of the concepts of simple and conditional probability, based on the resolution of contextualized situations. It is carried out with the tenth grade students of C.E.R Jose Ignacio Botero Palacio and is designed considering the framework of the Teaching for Understanding. Thus, based on the diagnosis and a matrix that evaluates the contents, methods and forms of communication, the initial levels of understanding of the students are established. Consequently, the intervention is elaborated and applied, it parts of the resolution of situations specific to the context of the students. Subsequently, the impact of the proposal is established by determining the levels of understanding reached by the students and comparing them with the initial levels. Finally, conclusions are drawn up, recommendations are given and the horizon of the proposal is glimpsed.
