Hans-Georg Gadamer y la filosofía práctica de Aristóteles: La interpretación de la antigüedad como experiencia de pensamiento

Abstract

En el presente trabajo intento elucidar cómo en algunos estudios de Gadamer sobre la ética antigua (correspondientes a su periodo de juventud) es posible vislumbrar un ejemplo de praxis hermenéutica que entiende la interpretación de la antigüedad como un diálogo vivo y una forma de pensamiento. Tales textos corresponden a su vez a tres problemas diferentes: En Platos dialektische Ethik (1931) se trata el problema de la conceptualidad o el trabajo del concepto; en “Praktisches Wissen” (1930) se aborda la sabiduría práctica; y en “Freundschaft und Selbsterkenntnis. Zur Rolle der Freundschaft in der griechischen Ethik” el tema central es la amistad. Estos textos circunscriben el campo de análisis del presente trabajo, en lo que atañe a textos de juventud, y marcan la dirección y orientación de los capítulos en que se dividirá este trabajo. Cada capítulo apuntará a explorar y sacar a la luz los problemas y elementos más importantes de cada uno de estos textos, para posteriormente mostrar que, en efecto, constituyen una apropiación productiva y creativa del pensamiento aristotélico.

Abstract: In this work I try to elucidate how in some of Gadamer’s early studies on ancient ethics (in this case specifically Aristotle’s ethics) is possible to see an example of hermeneutical praxis that assumes the interpretation of antiquity as a living dialog and as a form of thinking. Such texts correspond to three different problems: in Platos dialektische Ethik (1931) the central theme is conceptuality and the work of the concept, “Praktisches Wissen” (1930) analyses the subject of practical wisdom, and finally in “Freundschaft und Selbsterkenntnis. Zur Rolle der Freundschaft in der griechischen Ethik” the main theme is friendship. These texts circunscribe the field of analysis for the present investigation, and designate the orientation of the chapters in which this work is divided. Each chapter will try to show and explorate the problems and the most important elements of these texts respectively. The main goal is to show that those early studies of Gadamer in fact contitute a productive and creative appropriation of Aristotle’s thinking.
