Resumen
En este artículo, se propone dar respuesta a las preguntas que han estado rondando en su cabeza y en su quehacer político las cuales se centran en las siguientes preguntas: ¿bajo qué base sustentamos nuestras luchas contra el racismo, el sexismo, el clasismo y el heterosexismo? y ¿cuál sería la estrategia más correcta para su erradicación?, sin que ésta conlleve la pérdida de ciertas estrategias políticas y categorías conceptuales muchas veces transgresoras y que contienen en sí mismas elementos de identidad. En este sentido, la autora se propone en un primer momento abordar de manera sistemática los periodos del pensamiento feminista que arrojan elementos importantes de conceptualización y nos ayudan a visualizar cómo se construyeron las identidades. Y en un segundo momento cuáles son los debates que se suscitan en torno al tema de las identidades en el marco del feminismo hoy en día y, en particular, los dilemas que enfrentan las feministas negras al asumirlos como política.
The following questions in regard to current political and personal matters have arisen and find answers in this paper. What is the basis for the struggle against racism, sexism, class distinction and heterosexuality? What might be a strategy which might ameliorate this struggle? This must be accomplished without the surrender of political goals, and with the understanding of radical conceptions which contain in themselves the nucleus of personal identity. The author attempts immediately to systematically address various modes of feminine thought which bring out important elements in their conceptualization, especially as these are related to establishing identity. Attention is then given to the theme of identity in the femenist paradigm of today, and in particular the dilemmas which Afro femenists must confront in order to arrive at a politically adequate position.
