Abstract: This work exposes the possibilities offered by the critical reading of literary texts in the teaching of Organic Chemistry, in addition to the interdisciplinary relationships that can be established between this subject and other knowledge of the school curriculum. The objective of this research is to design a methodological proposal, that from the critical reading favors the scientific alphabetization, by means of the relation of the contents of the teaching of organic chemistry with other knowledge of the school curriculum. The research is carried out in three moments, the first of which is to analyze from the strategies of reading logs and some interactive techniques, what opportunities literary texts offer in the teaching of Natural Sciences and in scientific literacy, then review the eleventh grade study plans to identify possible interdisciplinary dialogues, mediated by a literary work and finally build a didactic unit that allows the approach of biomolecules from the disciplinary content, the novel "A happy world" and the interdisciplinary relationships before established.
