Propuesta de Banco Terminológico para un archivo histórico: caso Orden Público durante la gobernación del Mayor General Pioquinto Rengifo, (Antioquia, 1953-1957)

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta un Banco Terminológico, a modo de propuesta, para utilizar en un archivo histórico (Archivo Histórico de Antioquia). El acervo documental utilizado es la correspondencia sobre Orden Público del gobierno departamental de Antioquia durante la administración del Mayor General Pioquinto Rengifo entre 1953 y 1957. El problema identificado radica en la dificultad existente en el acceso a los documentos en un archivo histórico que nace como fondo acumulado, lo que implica la necesidad de crear nuevos instrumentos de descripción que lleven al usuario a satisfacer sus demandas de información, pero no solo llegando a niveles de descripción de las agrupaciones documentales, sino ir más allá con trabajos de tipo terminológico, debido a que el contexto en el cual fueron creados los documentos presenta un lenguaje natural que se “terminologizan” debido al contexto (violencia bipartidista) en la cual sus hablantes se expresaban. Por lo anterior, la metodología correspondiente está dada a partir de la investigación documental y la lexicometría, dos métodos que ayudan a comprender y describir los fenómenos dados: el conocimiento de la Entidad Productora y los términos compilados de acuerdo con el contexto. El banco terminológico presenta para cada uno de los 61 términos, una ficha en la cual describe desde sus fuentes secundarias, su definición y en las fuentes primarias, el contexto de su uso para la época. Por lo tanto, cuando un usuario tenga la necesidad de buscar información, no solo escudriñará en una serie tan gigante como correspondencia, sino que tendrá términos puntuales de entrada en su búsqueda.

Abstract: This paper presents a proposal of a terminology bank to be used in a historical archive (Historical Archive of Antioquia). The documental collection employed is the correspondence of Public Order of the departmental government of Antioquia, in the administration of Major General Pioquinto Rengifo between the years 1953-1957. The identified problem lies in the difficulty in accessing documents in a historical archive that is born as an accumulated fund, which implies the need to create new description tools that lead the user to meet their information demands, but not only by reaching to levels of description of the documentary groupings, but to go further with works of terminological type, because the context in which the documents were created presents a natural language that is "terminologized" due to the context (bipartisan violence) in which its speakers expressed themselves. Due to the above, the corresponding methodology is given from documentary research and lexicometry, two methods that help to understand and describe the given phenomena: the knowledge of the Production Entity and the terms compiled according to the context. The terminological bank presents for each of the 61 terms, a record in which it describes, from its secondary sources, its definition and in the primary sources, the context of its use for the time. Therefore, when a user has the need to search for information, not only will he scrutinize in such a giant series as correspondence, but he will have specific terms of entry in his search.
